One Year Of Living In Croydon

Well, I’ve made it to one year of living in Croydon. Well, a little bit more. I’m not in Croydon through choice. Living in London on a fairly decent wage, but having no wealth, means you have a choice for your first home – a scuzzy flat in a half-decent area or a good flat in a more questionable area. It’s time to do a review of 2024 goals, to see how much I achieved in the year. And did I really set 40 goals? Yikes. Must set less goals in 2025 (so probably will set 45). Yowsers, it is already a year of owning a flat – or at least owning a mortgage on a flat. The difference it has made to my life, and my level of happiness is quite notable. After falling in love with Strasbourg, it was time to head to my next destination, Metz. Metz wasn’t somewhere I was particularly bothered about visiting, the reason I was there was that I wanted to go to Luxembourg yet was put off by paying £130 a night for a hotel, so thought I could travel there from Metz – which was 50 minutes on the train, and half the price in a hotel.
