I thought it only prudent (don’t worry, not in the Gordon Brown sense of the word ‘prudent’) to comment upon the state of the UK economy today, with the release of good news with the quarter on quarter increase in GDP of 0.8%. I am sick of the bashing from the Anti-Tory left-wing of this country already (BBC – you are on notice as my favoured news provider). They are so desperate for power that they will choose any way to attack the government, and talk down the country’s prospects. And don’t even get me started on the politically-motivated unions, … Continued

A lack of human contact is not good for the soul, certainly not my soul anyway. Monday’s are rarely my favourite day of the week, unless I have had a really good weekend. And I most certainly did not. Shit weekends = shit moods. I now feel inspired to commit random acts of violence, or at least vandalism, however I expect that my current level of lethargy can only lead to having a moan. After all, this is what I have my blog for. That and weather forecasts, but more people read my moans than my weather forecasts. So this … Continued
Why do I fear the weekend so much when I have nothing planned? Many years ago I used to be able to cope. But over the last few years, my social life has gone into orbit with all the fantastic people I have befriended. I do quite like my own company, but I really like the company of others. So I’m coming back from work now with no plans and wondering how the hell I am going to occupy myself for two days and three nights? What do other people do? How do they cope? I shall have a pie … Continued
Things I Would Cut: 1. Wayne Rooney’s manhood, like you would a rabid dog. 2. Jimmy Bullard’s contract length and value. And hair. 3. John Terry. From life. 4. X-Factor. Death to X-Factor. Stop ruining my social life and what is left of decency in society at large. 5. All soap operas but starting with Eastenders first. I might keep Hollyoaks but cut most of the sound out unless there are any lesbian noises. 6. All prisoners. Or cut them from this country anyway – outsource them to a Chinese prison. 7. Electro-house. 8. The price of beer. 9. The … Continued
I didn’t make it to either fabric or Mango on Sunday or Saturday respectively – but I’m not so fussed as I had true disco satisfaction after an excellent night at the Warehouse Project on Friday night! The night takes place in a car park underneath the train station, and is very basic and rather dirty – musically and well, it is in dirty Manchester. I say it was basic as it was simply a couple of thousand people there for the music and a damn good party – no messing around, no poncing around, no leaving early. The star … Continued
This is my second piece of art. Comments appreciated.
Well well well, I always said that my blog would get me into trouble as I am not one to stick to convention, and, it appears that it has. Though not this blog, my sister blog James Winfields Top Tunes blog seems to have got me into trouble. There I am, thinking that all of these tunes I love, that I discover, should be shared with everyone; suddenly I receive such e-mail: *** Blogger has been notified, according to the terms of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), that certain content in your blog is alleged to infringe upon the … Continued
OK I should have posted this much earlier but I seem to have been struck down with something which my immune system has not been able to cope with, hence I didn’t wake up until 4pm and have only just started to have any kind of physical energy. Firstly I have some thoughts on the football from yesterday. Montenegro are a good team. They were a good team before they won their first three games and are still a good team. They could well do just as Greece did in 2004 – an unspectacular team but with the spirit and … Continued
“A lot of bloggers seem to be socially inadequate, pimpled, single, slightly seedy, bald, cauliflower-nosed, young men sitting in their mother’s basements and ranting. They are very angry people.” This is according to Andrew Marr. Firstly, have you ever watched his television programme on a Sunday morning? It is truly banal. Many a time it has put me to sleep after a heavy Saturday night’s clubbing. I really enjoy politics but he really knows how to make it truly dull. And a while back he also did some programme on the wonders of the British Isles, I cannot remember what … Continued
Why I am being punished once again? I moved into a new flat only 3 minutes walk away from the bus route number 4 to get to work, and two months later, Reading Buses withdraw it. I can still get to work on the bus, but from two weeks time I will have to walk to the bus station (of sorts) which is 15 minutes away. Although I can then get a bus for £1.30 rather than £1.70, it means that I will then walk past the delightful Crumbs (just off Broad Street in Reading – use Google to find … Continued
