I’ve been feeling the daily grind recently, especially this week. My job is not the problem but the time taken up by commuting is annoying. In 2011, the budget calculator calculated that I would be £90.66 a year better off in the coming financial year. In 2012, I just posted a picture of some gravy. For this coming financial year, I will be a massive £289.00 better off. So why do I like this budget? 1. 1p cut in beer duty and 3p rise scrapped. Good for drinkers and landlords. 2. Believe it or not, there are several strands of Conservatives. Which is why you see the party pulling itself apart on a semi-regular basis over things the majority of the population don’t care massively about like gay marriage or Europe, and why when as soon as David Cameron says the words ‘wind farms’, the Daily Mail will tell its readers to vote UKIP. Ahh pay-day. I treated (is that a word?) myself to a sausage and bacon sandwich this morning for the grand price of £3.65. That is my pay-day treat. Once my rent is paid, electricity, gas, water, train fare to work and food shopping is all taken into account, there isn’t too much left. The keen-eyed and eared amongst you will have noticed that the campaign for the 2015 general election has recently begun in earnest. You know where I stand – I am a Tory. A modern and liberal one. Yes – there are different types! I have been musing over possible results. The preferred option for me, is of course a Conservative majority.
